Great Falls, Montana (September 26, 2011) – Dale Nelson of Nelson Architects, a local Great Falls firm established in 2005, is one of only five people to be appointed by Governor Schweitzer to the Montana Board of Architects and Landscape Architects. This board supervises the state licensure for architects and landscape architects. They oversee and guide ethical business practices, fair competition, and hear any issues or complaints.
“I have a passion for my profession,” says Dale Nelson, owner of Nelson Architects. “It’s important to me both personally and professionally to ensure our industry maintains their integrity, credibility, and abides by the code of ethics. Being part of this board is a great opportunity to serve not only the profession but to represent the customers that we all serve.”
Dale Nelson is the incoming President for AIA Montana (American Institute of Architects) – www.aia-mt.org. As President-elect, he was responsible for bringing the AIA Montana Annual Fall Conference to Great Falls. The conference is being held at the Best Western Heritage Inn, begins Thursday, September 29 and closes Saturday, October 1. More than 60 architects from around the state are expected to attend.
“We are very excited about the program this year..it’s fresh and new,” says Nelson. “The focus is on the “business” of architecture aimed at giving mid-sized firms tools, tips and ideas for growing their business.”
Of special note is the “Green Tour” Saturday October 1st. Participants tour the offices of CTA, the Missouri River Courthouse, and United Materials Wind Generation –all green-building projects in the Great Falls area.
