More seniors are looking for opportunities to stay in their rural communities as their needs change. The owner, with this in mind, hired our firm to design the Front Range Assisted Living community to serve as a template for future senior living community in other rural vicinities.

This two-story, 16-room Assisted Living community (Phase 1), was designed especially for the independent-minded senior who requires more support during the day. The community features a country-style kitchen and home-styled dining area. A beautiful and spacious activities room was included to allow the residents a place to socialize, visit with guests and family, and play games.

Each apartment is furnished with a sink and refrigerator. The apartments are also equipped with its own heating and air-conditioning controls, allowing the resident to customize their environment. Additionally, each room has an emergency call system for additional peace of mind.  The residences range in size from standard one bedroom to larger suites with additional bathroom amenities.  Five of the fifteen apartments are full ADA accessible and feature en-suite bathrooms with roll-in showers.

A 10-room addition to this community was recently completed (Phase 2).

This template design concept has been a success and we continue to work with the owner to expand. Plans are underway to take this model and launch the design and construction of assisted living communities in two more rural communities in Montana.

Cost: $1.1 million – Phase 1 | $500,000 – Phase 2

Size: 9,000 SF Phase 1 | 7,000 SF Phase 2

Unique: Designing a model of Senior Living that fit the culture and economy of rural Montana and was attractive enough to entice seniors to stay in their communities as they age.
