Challenge
What started out as a cabin in the aspens has become a permanent residence for the Rice family.
The challenge from our client was to design an Ireland cottage, whose construction had the least amount of impact to the surrounding landscape and focused strategic views on the nearby Keagan Peak.
Inspired by solid and void nature of how an aspen grove thrives, the house became three small pods connected with transparent circulation connectors. The success of the project was its natural integration into the site-based on orientation, space adjacencies, and materials selection.
