Challenge

Our firm relocated and renovated the hospital’s Respiratory Therapy (RT) Department. This project was completed simultaneously with the pharmacy’s renovation and relocation. It required careful planning and design within the existing building’s very low roof structure.

Communication and scheduling with the medical team during these phases were critical, ensuring uninterrupted service to patients.

We relocated the RT staff offices, the home-base training and conference area, and moved the equipment reprocessing and storage functions closer to patient service areas. Additionally, we created new Bronchoscopy and Pulmonary Function Labs within the Hospital’s Endoscopy Center. Our team had a comprehensive understanding of all the medical staff and their functions and processes when treating patients. As a result, we specifically designed spaces around patient beds for maximum function and equipment access. The Interior Design package was created to foster a more aesthetic and soothing environment.

Our application of Lean design principles ensured efficient equipment handling by staff which expedited equipment turnaround and accountability. The renovation is promoting greater efficiencies across the hospital’s campus and improving the quality of patient care.
