Construction Administrator
I’ve been in the construction business for 26+ years. Nelson Architects gives me the opportunity to lend my experience to our team’s innovative designs. I develop relationships with the clients and the contractors to ensure projects are built per design and in a timely manner. In the end, my goal is for both parties to enjoy the process and our clients to receive the product they desired.
Josh has 26+ years of construction experience. He is a 22+ year retired Air Force plumber and construction manager with an additional 4 years as a construction manager and inspector for the Department of the Air Force.
Josh reviews our drawings for smart, constructable design from the contractor’s perspective, to facilitate economic and efficient execution of projects.
As our Construction Administrator Josh is indispensable as the linchpin between the design team, clients, and general contractors. His primary responsibilities are:
- determine scope of work
- calculate construction costs to make sure they match construction plans
- actively manage client budgets, schedules and programs
- project communications and documentation, such as, reviewing all construction drawing sets, determining material feasibility based on current market demand, lead times and availability, specifications, RFI’s, submittals and certified payroll
- manage project team assignments, ensures quality control, all required materials are delivered to the project site, and provides on-site project oversight and monitoring.
