Challenge

During Benefis’ East Campus Emergency Department and Trauma Center remodel and addition, the Endoscopy Department was taken over to allow for the expansion of emergency functions. Due to this, the Endoscopy Department was in need of a new space.

We worked with the hospital facilities’ team to identify a new location for an improved Endoscopy Center that provided convenient patient access and better care. The confined footprint of the new location required careful planning to maintain patient and staff flow while providing pre- and post-procedure bays, five new endoscopy procedure rooms, and the required staff and equipment support spaces.
As with the adjacent laboratory remodel (also designed by our firm), the new entry storefront is visible and easily accessed from a major public hallway. This has significantly increased patient accessibility.
