Challenge
Nelson Architects served as the Federal Court’s architectural consultant and worked with Hoefer Wysocki Architects, LLC in a senior advisory role. Dale Nelson evaluated designs with tenants and worked with the judges and staff to refine the design plans for the clerk of courts spaces, judge’s chambers, probation area, outdoor spaces, and water features. He also provided regular inspections during construction to ensure compliance with the federal design guidelines and adherence to the approved plans. The final result was a new LEED certified Federal Courthouse that met the needs of the Federal Courts.
Cost: $16,650,000
Unique: This project overlooks the Missouri River and sits close to where a historical Lewis & Clark grizzly bear incident occurred. We commissioned an artist to create a grizzly bear statue to commemorate this event.
