Challenge

The St. Peter’s Hospital Operating Room and Catheterization Lab remodel included the renovation of approximately 10,200 square feet of existing hospital space and a 1,500 square foot addition to St. Peter’s Community Hospital.

The renovation design of the existing Catheterization Lab incorporated the latest technology into a new staff- and patient-friendly suite. The renovation of the operating room included the addition of three new operating rooms. The new operating rooms also feature a state-of-the-art audio / visual digital integration system allowing the surgeon to access images and other health information in real time.

Two new passenger elevators replaced the existing dumbwaiters in the O.R., providing staff with access to Central and Sterile Supply located one level below.

Cost: $3,700,000

Size: 11,700

Unique: A bonus room was added onto the project by raising a portion of the existing hospital roof to create space for medical and anesthesia equipment booms as well as surgical lights.
